The Rapture Question Part 1 and 2 by Pastor Brandon Park at First Baptist Raytown.

Though my blog is called “One Pastors Point of View”, I see that I am not the only pastor who does not necessarily believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture.

Words to Live By

"You want to know why there's so much darkness in this world? Could it be because a lot of folks don't see us loving one another?" - Fred Luter

A New Start

I know it has been some time since I have posted anything on my sites.  The reason for this is that I have moved from my home in Utah and have came back home, in a since, to Missouri.  I plan to write out more about my move later but I wanted to give a brief idea for the move.

275x275

As most people know I was born and raised in Missouri.  I moved to St. Louis when I was 18 and was very happy.  Then I felt God calling me to Utah to preach for a small church in a small town.

And let me tell you, going from the STL to Duchesne was a big adjustment.  Duchesne, Utah has about 1700+ people and in a very small town.  St. Louis is a little bigger. 300,000+

st louis

I grow up on a farm and all but yes, I became a little to city and I liked it.  But God was calling me to Duchesne, so I went.

Now I don’t want to go to much into my time in Duchesne right now but let me put it like this.

  • I got my first cyber stocker… I know crazy right.  Little oh me in a little oh town get Cyber stocked by a… well I don’t want to go into that right now but that’s a fun but mostly sad story.
  • I would have never made it through the 2 years there without my best friend Ryan.  He helped me so much and it hurt me to have to leave him and his wife Kory.  I love you both so very much.

But right now I am seating in a hotel room, the day after my birthday thinking about what God has called me to do next.  I am seating mu Kansas City, Missouri waiting to start my new roll as a church planter.  If you don’t know what that means it simple, I am going to start a new church in the KC area.

There are a lot of things I will miss about Utah But I have to follow God.  I will tell the whole story soon.

END OF LINE…

What's the Big Deal About KJV Onlyism? Response to Episode 4

Yet another great video explaining why Sam Gipp is wrong and misleading people in this whole crazy idea that the King James Bible is the only word of God.  Thank you once again Dr. James White for stand up ageist these crazy ideas.

Satan Wants Christians to Hate Each Other

Published on Aug 21, 2012 by mhcseattle

The greatest threat to unity, health, and progress within the church is actually the people inside of it. Relationships can be a fault line when Christians don't love one another.
This clip is excerpted from the sermon "Jesus Love Us," part 9 of our current sermon series, Jesus Loves His Church. It was preached by Pastor Mark Driscoll at Mars Hill Downtown Bellevue and released online on August 19.

Talk to Someone, Not about Them

published on Aug 14, 2012 by mhcseattle

Pastor Mark stresses the importance of talking to people rather than gossiping about them.
This clip is excerpted from the sermon "Jesus Reconciles Us," part 8 of our current sermon series, Jesus Loves His Church. It was preached by Pastor Mark Driscoll at Mars Hill Downtown Bellevue and released online on August 12

Honor Preachers

There’s a difference between a charge and a criticism. Do you know what the difference is? A charge is an actual allegation of actual wrongdoing. Like committed adultery, taught false doctrine, stole money. A criticism is, “I don’t like them. I don’t agree. I wouldn’t have said it like that.” Be careful to only bring a charge and not to treat a criticism as a charge. [. . .]

I want us to be a people who pray for preachers, who honor preachers, who hold preachers to a high standard. And if there’s a charge, it needs to be investigated. But there’s a difference between a criticism and a charge.

And while you’re at it pray for me. James 3:1 says, “Not many of you should presume to be teachers because teachers are going to be judged more strictly.” I get that. I feel that. I honestly feel the weight of the burden of responsibility of the task that the Lord has called me to.
